Be open to learning, what others do and how it might interact with what you do is key. You need to build that support network around you. Get out of your comfort zone, look into what networking events are happening around you and plan to attend. Many beneficial things normally come out of it.

Identify your intentions before attending a networking event to know what you want to get out of the event. It’s possible to waste a lot of time networking so make sure it is valuable and strategic. Figure out “why you are going to the event”, let your goal at the event be clear. Make a good enough impression at the event so that the person you meet will want to see you again after a networking event.

Networking is not just about meeting new people, don’t forget about your family and friends. We recommend building a relationship with family and friends first. Have random times in your calendar where you just call people you haven’t spoken to in a while.

There are many ways you can network; you can do one-on-one networking or go to networking events and even network on social media. To top it all, surround yourself with people that are positive and bring out the best of you. Make sure people in your network inspires you.
