Adetomi Soyinka Bio
Adetomi Soyinka is the Regional Director for the British Council’s Higher Education portfolio of programs across Sub- Saharan Africa. She is a program management professional with over 15 years of experience developing and delivering mixed-scale activities and interventions across multiple geographies within Sub-Saharan Africa and the UK. She has extensive experience working in both the commercial and non-profit sectors with a demonstrated track record of achievement in the design and delivery of multiple large-scale projects across a diverse range of thematic areas which include international and higher education, skills for employability, and enterprise.
She is very passionate about youth development and empowerment and as such has leveraged her role as a program lead within the British Council to curate and design content, platforms and programs which actively support the development of young people in Nigeria and across the African continent. Over the course of the last decade, she has developed innovative enterprise solutions aimed at supporting and facilitating improved access to education and skills for young people.
Adetomi’s current portfolio is focused on leveraging collaborative practices and working with a range of stakeholders and partners across the public, private and social sectors in the areas of Higher Education, Skills, and Enterprise development. Using this method, she has successfully built a 300-person strong digital community of practice featuring key players within the education, private and social sectors, currently delivering interventions across key markets in SSA and the UK.
Within the British Council, Adetomi sits on several strategic program boards at country, regional and global levels. Externally, she works with and supports various stakeholder groups by sitting on Higher Education and human capital development-related cross-government advisory boards and think tanks.
