Tim Melaye Bio
Tim is a dynamic public speaker, an excellent trainer, a specialist information manager and an AML/CFT Expert; with specialty in conduct and compliance, professional project management, and he is an outstanding development expert.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, a Master’s degree (MSc) in Public policy analysis, and another MSc degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution. He is currently a Ph.D. Student at Walden University, USA. Tim is a Fellow of the Institute of Information Management (FIIM) in Africa; a Fellow of the Compliance Institute of Nigeria (FCIN); and a Fellow of the Professional Speakers Society of Nigeria (FPSSN). He is also a certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS); and a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) amongst several others.
Tim is a coach, He possesses High Credit Rated Trainer Scheme (HCRT) from the American Management Association (AMA), New York, USA and the Canadian Management Centre (CMC), Toronto, Canada. He is also a Professional CS Trainer in the management of frontline staff in Pretoria, South Africa and International Law Institute Judicial Officials on AML/CFT measures in ILI, Washington DC, USA. He is the ‘ear-holder” i.e. an AML/CFT expert at the Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime at Jesus College, Cambridge University, UK.
Before Joining GABA- ECOWAS, Tim previously worked as Head, Learning Events and Manager at the German Technical Cooperation, a German Development Agency (GIZ). He was also a Senior Manager at the British Council. Tim also worked as Service Delivery Specialist at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)’s LEAD Program. He is currently the Nigerian Country Head and the Information Manager of GABA, an ECOWAS Specialized AML/FT Institution, and FATF Style Regional Body for West Africa. In this capacity, he oversees GABA’s extensive AML/CFT engagements in Nigeria and the Anglophone Countries of West Africa.
Tim has trained several groups including law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies, boards of several banks, insurance companies, Central Bank officials, Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs), Judicial Officials, Civil Societies including media groups, etc. Tim is a permanent student and a lifelong learner. He has attended several training and capacity building programs across the globe. He is happily married with 2 children. He is open, friendly, plays table tennis and conducts coaching exercises during his leisure time. Meeting and hearing him are both highly rewarding and very interesting.
