Application for Africa Initiative for Governance (AIG) Scholarships 2022-23 is now open

Launched in 2017, the AIG Scholarships provides a unique opportunity for outstanding West Africans interested in a career in public service to study a Master of Public Policy at the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government. Since2017, twenty-seven(27) scholarships worth over £50,000 have been given to future public sector leaders who have shown a commitment to the industry.

AIG Scholars spend a year at one of the world’s top universities, learning from great academic professors and experienced practitioners, as well as engaging with other future public sector leaders from across the globe. Scholars return to their home countries after finishing their degrees and use what they’ve learned to improve policies, advocate reforms, and contribute to the economic development of their nations.

From 2022, the AIG Scholarships will only be open to applicants already working in the civil service. Applicants should be aged between 25 and 50, with strong intellectual capacity, demonstrable leadership qualities and a passion to contribute to the development of Nigeria’s civil service.
