When Women Win partners the British Council for an International Women’s Day Roundtable
To mark the 2023 International Women’s Day, When Women Win, in a strategic partnership with the British Council, will host a Roundtable for C-suite leaders and stakeholders especially in diversity & inclusion, women development, media, business and policy on Saturday, 4 th March 2023 at the British Council office in Lagos from 11am with a Live feed on YouTube @whenwomenwin.
The Roundtable, themed DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality, aims to positively scale the important work of improving equality, diversity and inclusion in workplaces and the society at large by leveraging the opportunities that technology, innovation and building relevant partnerships offer.
While it is a given fact that women come together a lot, especially for International Women’s Day, the leaders of initiatives focused on diversity and inclusion rarely do so. This is a gap the event seeks to bridge in order to leverage partnerships for the goals, in line with SDG 17. Technology and innovation are also critical in scaling the work on gender equality. The ideas shared by the speakers, panellists and all participants will help these leaders do more with their initiatives going forward.
During the session, participants will:
-
- Explore new ideas, trends, and innovations from expert speakers and panelists in the fields of technology, education, and diversity
- Consider untapped opportunities that digital and technology provide for gender equality and how to take advantage of them
- Share best practices with each other during the roundtable discussion on how they are using technology in their current initiatives to improve inclusiveness and diversity
- Connect and network in an environment that fosters building relationships with potential partners to scale existing initiatives and create new ones
Participants will leave the session with innovative ideas, useful resources, and equipped with a strong network they can leverage for their gender equality initiatives.
The roundtable will also serve as an opportunity for the British Council to share and showcase its initiatives for workplace diversity and as a launch pad for When Women Win’s Journey to 1 million – a vision to equip 1 million African women through digital technology with career, business, and soft skills needed to succeed in life.
